How to try out Lightdust / Browser Modeler? [message #1096306] Wed, 28 August 2013 04:02 Go to next message

Hello Stardust Community

I found a website, which describes how to extend the browser modeler:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Stardust/Enhancing_and_Embedding_Stardust/Browser_Modeler

I also found the git repo of the web modeler:
http://git.eclipse.org/c/stardust/org.eclipse.stardust.ui.web.git/

What I haven't found is an explanation/tutorial on how to build/try the browser modeler.

Do you have an installation/building HowTo or an online demo?

Also: is the Sungard/Infinity repo access still required to try out the web modeler?
(Access is restricted to some countries)

Thank you

Hi Peter,

unless you have a specific reason to do so you don't need to build the modeler from the source. Just install the Stardust release as described here
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Stardust/Knowledge_Base/Getting_Started/Installation
Then setup a dynamic web project with the Stardust project facets and log into the portal. The modeler is part of it.

You don't need access to any Infinity Process Platform artifacts. However, the web modeler is new and making quick progress. If you want to try the latest version with improvements that will become available in Stardust with the Eclipse Kepler SR1 then you can get a free IPP trial.

You may also want to check out the videos here:

Best regards

Rob
