Remote cdo server [message #1076487] Wed, 31 July 2013 09:18 Go to next message

Hi everybody,
I'm cdo newbie and need yor help.
I use CDO/Mysql for my rcp application in localhost (localhost:2036).
I would like to deploy my CDO server and sql in order to allow clients of a network to use the same repositories if they want.
So I'm looking for examples or methods to retrieve all available CDO servers (all launched servers).

I'm also looking to connect the CDO servers to a remote Mysql database.
Thanks for your help.

You mean find all repositories on one server (== network node) from a client?

Isn't that just a matter of using the appropriate Mysql-specific database url in cdo-server.xml?

Yes. When I launch my rcp application, I would like to display a popup to either launch the cdo server in localhost or use an existing one.

Please have a look at the CDO Administration view. It nicely demonstrates the underlying CDOAdmin API that you can also
use in your application to discover repositories on remote servers.
