Japanese to English language change [message #1061572] Mon, 03 June 2013 00:04 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
Hello, I am new to using Eclipse.

I am currently using a Japanese version of Eclipse (Helios). However this version came with modifications from the circuit board designer. It has a lot of headers, libraries and so on that are designed to interface with the board. I tried to download the english version of eclipse and copy all of the subfiles from the japanese version over however this didn't help as all the functions werent recognized and I got nothing but errors left and right.

I am having issues mainly because I am unable to read half of the toolbars, menus, popups and errors. Is there any way to fix this problem? I have checked the forums and google but none of the solutions have worked thus far (such as adding -nl en into the command line). Is there a specific location in the eclipse directory that has the language information that could be modified?

I would greatly appreciate any help, and if you are still confused about my situation please let me know. I am fairly new to this. Thank you.

Eric,

Typically translated versions are supported by installing additional
language packs:

http://www.eclipse.org/babel/

Typically English is the default for the *.properties files that come
with the platform and the language packs are installed to support other
languages.
