Someone posted this same thing recently. There is a bug open for it.

This enhancement request is along the same lines:
Allow multiple editors per class
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=31420

Splitting an editor would be tantamount to having two open to the same
type.
