AJDT and 3.0M(?), when again? [message #30653] Mon, 09 February 2004 21:54 Go to next message

Hello,

Just to summarize all discussions here, does anybody know
when and at what versions of AJDT and 3.0M(?) they
will start cooperate again?

As far as I understood from the posts here, the malfunction
of AJDT 1.1.4 with 3.0M5/6 builds of eclipse was caused
by major changes in plug-in API. So it means that AJDT has
to be fixed in order to be compatible.
So, is there a new build in the nearest future for AJDT to
address this issue?

Thank you,
Peter

Hi Peter,

All valid questions.

You are correct that AJDT 1.1.4 worked up until EclipseM4 when some Eclipse
base changes caused us a major headache.

Since that time we have started on a brand new codebase for the next version
of AJDT. This version is targetting Eclipse 3.0 and is currently being
developed on M6 as that is the most current. The recent screenshots that
have been made available by the development team hint at some of the
features we will have in this version (e.g. eager parsing, code assist,
breakpoints can be placed in aspects - all that good stuff). The codename
of this next version of AJDT is Lancaster because we want to get it released
in some form (maybe beta) by the AOSD 2004 conference that is taking place
in Lancaster at the end of March.
