You are invited to "Eclipse: Getting Connected" to be held in
Brussels,Belgium May 22nd, 2003, hosted by the Belgian Java User's Group
(BeJUG). http://www.bejug.org
The event is designed for eveyone interested in eclipse, from plugin
developers to those unfamiliar with eclipse but curious, nonetheless.
We'll start the day with presentations from the eclipse development team
and around the community. In the afternoon we'll have two sessions in
parallel. For those new to eclipse, there will be a presentation where
you'll learn about the eclipse project and its features. For
experienced plugin writers, we'll start a code camp that will continue
on through Friday May 23rd,.
In the first part of the day you'll learn about eclipse and how open
source development impacts the way software is developed from one of the
leaders of the eclipse project. Then, we'll show you how the eclipse
plug-in architecture enables you to get involved.
Later in the afternoon we'll continue in two tracks. For those new to
eclipse, you'll be taken on a tour of the eclipse architecture, Java
development tools and the eclipse project. For experienced plugin
writers, we'll start a code camp that will continue on through Friday
May 23rd. You'll have the opportunity to interact with members of the
eclipse development team on eclipse related problems, solutions and ideas.

*About the code camp*
The code camp is an opportunity for experienced eclipse plugin
developers to deepen their understanding of the platform and exchange
ideas with members of the eclipse development team. The camp will begin
in the afternoon of 22 May and continue through 17:00 on 23 May.
Registration will be limited, so please register in advance on the BeJUG
website.
We're asking you to join us for a Wiki discussion of camp topics and to
select one before the camp. We'll try to team you up in pairs on the
Wiki as well, before we meet in Brussels. You'll find the discussion on
the wiki (started by Xavier Méhaut) at http://eclipsewiki.swiki.net .
*Bring your laptops!*
For the code camp, you'll need to bring your laptop with you.
Fees:
Eclipse - Getting connected will be free of charge for BeJUG members.
Non-BeJUG members will be charged a nominal fee of 75,00 EUR or you can
opt to become a member of BeJUG (EUR 150, students EUR 50). Membership
includes all BeJUG events for this year including Eclipse-Getting
Connected, JavaOne Afterglow in June 2003, and Javapolis in December 2003.

The event will be held in the auditorium of the Royal Belgian Football
Association headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. They are located at: Av.
Houba de Strooperlaan 145, B-1020 Brussel/Bruxelles, Belgium. More
