Adding elements dynamically [message #1591297] |

Hi,
I recently started using Sirius and I must say that it has been a real pleasure. Sirius has met most of my needs almost straight out of the box without much of a learning curve. As I used Sirius, I found that I could do more than I originally anticipated.
It is in one of those exercises I came to this problem. I want to build a diagram based on Sirius, where some of the nodes/containers.edges come from other plugins.
Think something like Visio (a crude analogy) where we can plugin stencils and diagram files and mix these nodes.
I want to provide a basic model of elements in my plugins and later contribute additional elements with other plugins. Is this doable?
In the diagram extension, it looks as if I need to create an additional layer to add elements. Couldn't I add elements to the default layer?
Thanks,
Deepu roy

Yes, it is possible rightly with diagram extension.

Not to the default layer, but there are options an additional layer to
consider it as :
* not optional: The end-user can not deactivate this layer
* active by default
