If I choose File Menu -> Open File in Eclipse and select a file external
to the workspace to open in my custom text editor, obviously there is no
IResource associated with the IEditorInput my editor gets. Is there
still a (preferably straightforward) way to show red squiggly marks?
(For example, for syntax errors in the opened file.)

Thanks in advance,

Martijn van Steenbergen.
