UI conventions for error marking in multi-page editors? [message #285705]

Are there some UI guidelines or conventions written up for marking
errors in multipage editors? I browsed version 2.1 of the User Interface
Guidelines ( http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-UI-Guidelines/Index. html)
but this does not appear to address error marking or messages for anything
other than the 'source' page.

If there is a difference in the proper presentation between the "flat" and
"non-flat" type of pages, I would appreciate the benefit of that experience,
as well.
