Hi,

Many installers (or more generally wizards) present a sort of step
indicator to the user, so that it's more clear where in the process
they are and what steps remain. I've prototyped something similar
for the Oomph Installer and now I could need your opinion on whether
it's useful and nice or whether it's just more noise:
Hi, Eike,

I am one of those people that like these breadcrumb widgets. So much
so I would like to use it in my own projects. What about contributing
it to some project such as Nebula, or even JFace, for wider reuse?
Also, I do sometimes build dynamic wizards where the determination of
which successor pages are presented depends on the user's input in
preceding pages. Does your breadcrumb widget provide a simple (ideally
automatic) means to update itself as the wizard's page navigation
changes?

A very Happy New Year to you! I look forward to seeing what you'll
Oomph for us next in 2015.

Christian

Hi Christian,

Great to hear that there's some like ;-)

Please note, though, that it's not a widget because JFace's wizard framework (i.e., the WizardDialog) does not expose
any of the structural details of the title bar area. Instead I use a trick: I render the entire title area into an image
and set that as the title image (and nothing else). I'm sure it could be enhanced to deal with dynamic pages. You may
want to have a look at the "step-indicator" branch of our Git repository.

Cheers
/Eike
