Is your project a CDT project? Or did you just create a C++ file and edit
it?
In order for CDT to discover types, you project has to be enabled for CDT.
There is a wizard for this. File > New > CDT - then something like convert
project. etc.
Did you read the CDT documentation? Help > Help Contents....
