Detecting when -initialize is finished ? [message #273016] Wed, 29 September 2004 21:14
Eclipse UserFriend
I'm using Eclipse 3.0 platform and I'm creating installer for it. When
installing I run eclipse with the -initialize option.

The problem is that the eclipse launcher seems to spawn another process
to handle the initialize and return straight away. This causes the
installer to continue installion while the eclipse platform is still
being initialized in the background. It would be preffered to detect
that the initialization has completed successfully before continuing
with installation. The installer may end up running eclipse before
initilization is complete and it also reduces feedback the given to the
user about the installation process.

regards,
Adam
