Outline window only partially works for libraries? [message #26943] Fri, 16 May 2003 18:07

Normally, if I'm looking at the outline of a .java file in the Outline
window and I left mouse click on a field or function name then the Edit
window automatically moves to the position in the .java file that contains
the definition of that field or function.

However, say I add a .jar or a directory as a library through
Java Build Path->Libraries, and say that .jar or directory does contain
both .class files and corresponding .java files. Now, if, through Package
Explorer, I double click on a .class file in that library (Package
Explorer is only displaying .class files for libraries, even though .java
files are present in the library!?), then the corresponding .java file
will be opened in the editor. However, the Outline window is no longer
fully functional. It does display all the fields and function names. But
clicking on any field or function name no longer causes the editor to move
to corresponding field/function definition.

Is there any option that lets the Outline window remain fully functional
even for libraries?
