I have a doubt that this bothered me, is there any way to connect to a
database without using ODA? I need only test a connection to the database.

Hey

i'm not so familiar with databases and eclipse, but can u not test the
connection if you query the database? when you are connected then the
query will return something, otherwise it should return a error or
exception?
