I'm new to using eclipse, but finding it quite valuable. I've been going
through the basic tutorial and am up to the point where I am working
through the "Ant and external tools Tutorial".
I created a file HelloWorld.xml which caused explorer to open. I closed
that and tried to open with Ant Editor. But the only editors shown as
available in the context popup are system editor, text edior, and default
editor. The tutorial says there would be an "Ant Editor" But alas it is
not there. I have downloaded and installed Apache Ant 1.6 and set the
environment variable ANT_HOME, plus added to the path the Ant bin
(C:\ant\bin) in the system path. I am using Windows XP pro.
There is probably something obvious I am missing, and I sure could use
some help.
If you CAN help me, please contact me at bobby@eagle-i.com
Thanks,
Bobby Berns

Have you set up a file association for *.xml with the Ant editor?
By default the Ant editor is only associated with build.xml files.
Window>Preferences>Workbench>File Associations>Add
Note as well that Eclipse 3.0 ships with Ant 1.6.1 so there is no need to
download and install Ant 1.6.1 and set Ant home if you are using Eclipse 3.0
