Your best bet is to download Eclipse, burn it onto a disk and then mail
it to yourself. The Eclipse Foundation does not (and, frankly, can not)
provide installation CDs.

Alternatively, you can get a copy of Fedora 8 (Linux) which ships with
several variations of Eclipse (at least the disk they gave me had it on
it).

Or, you can get one of the commercial products based on Eclipse, like
MyEclipse, JBuilder, Rational Application Developer, etc. These come on
CD.

I recall hearing that Yoxos (http://www.yoxos.com) can provide a CD, but
I can't find any link to it on the site (I could just be imagining
this).

You best bet is to just download the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
here:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/

79 MB sounds like a lot, but the download will be over before you know
it :-)

HTH,

Wayne

You'd have to convince someone to burn a CD for you; the Eclipse
Foundation does not provide hard-copies of the product, it is download only.
Furthermore, Eclipse does not have an installation - you just unzip it
and run the executable.

Hope this helps,
Eric

And if you find your connection is too slow and are itching to pay for
something (eg., a CD), then consider donating a minimum of $35 to
Eclipse. That will get you access to the Friends of Eclipse download
site, which is crazy-fast.

(Wayne, I can't believe you missed an opportunity to evangelize the FoE
site! :P )

Eclipse Foundation does not supply installable CDs.

Downloads of Eclipse 3.3.2 are available on this page:
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.3.2- 200802211800/index.php

Choose "Eclipse SDK" to get the the whole "classic" package.

Once you download the package, unzip it using a zip utility such as
7zip. If you are using WindowsXP, do not simply browse the zip file
using Windows, as unpredictable results will occur.

Once you've unzipped the package, go into the eclipse directory and
start up eclipse.exe to run.

Best regards,
Lee Anne

Antony:

You might also want to read this, as it covers things like specifying
the folder for your workspace and which JVM to use, along with memory
and permgen settings:
