Mike Milinkovich Named as New Eclipse Executive Director [message #25241] Mon, 31 May 2004 13:42 Go to next message

Eclipse has found its new Executive Director: Mike Milinkovich. I view
this as a very positive step for the Web Tools project. I have worked
with Mike in the past (on IBM VisualAge for Java) and he is very
knowledgeable about Java development tools. In a recent article, Mike is
quoted as saying one of his main priorities is to lauch this project.

"Milinkovich said in a statement that his top priorities as executive
director include shipping the Eclipse 3.0 software in the early summer
and the launch of a WebTools project for improving Web development
tools. He also said he intends to form a management organisation to
supervise planning of Eclipse projects."

It is indeed great news! and having the WTP project listed
as his top priorities is very encouraging for us too :-)
