Can one use the .jardesc file with an ant jar task? [message #255450]

I would find it most convenient if one could use the .jardesc file that
one can create using the JarPackager to specify what files should be
jar-ed up.
Can one somehow use those .jardesc files as input to ant's <jar ... />
task? I found no parameter that sounded promising.

A short google search revealed that this has already been discussed in
this very NG in 2005. Has there anything been done or developed since to
support this?

Note that the new Runnable JAR file export wizard can create an ant
build file.
