Eclipse 3.8 on Ubuntu.
I used install-new-sw to get SVN.
After restart, my workspace is empty and Java perspective now says <java>.

Thanks for any leads and thanks IBM for Eclipse!

Jim,

Where are the projects physically located on disk? You can use
"File->Import...->General->Existing Projects" into Workspace to locate
them and add them back to the workspace...
