No checkout dialog with ClearCase plugin [message #24968] |

Hi
We use Rational ClearCase as our SCM with the ClearCase plugin from [1].
Every developer uses WinXP Pro SP3, Eclipse 3.4.2 (M20090211-1700) and
m2e 0.9.6. We must use 0.9.6 instead of 0.9.7 because of the bug during
generating webapp projects. Anyway, the reason for this posting is
another problem.
The m2e plugin, especially the pom editor seems to have a problem with
the ClearCase interaction. If I open a pom file which is already _not_
checked out and modify something on it, these changes are completely
ignored and the file is still write protected. If I use another editor
like the default xml editor to open the pom file and modify something,
the checkout dialog from ClearCase is shown.
This is the normal behaviour of the ClearCase plugin: If you try to
modify a file which is not checked out, the ClearCase dialog pops up to
checkout the file. After that the ClearCase server knows that someone is
modifying this file and the file itself is writeable on my machine.
Note: You need a separate ClearCase installation on your machine to be
able to use the plugin. Because of that it may be impossible to try the
plugin yourself. So let me know if you need more information.

Please open a bugreport in JIRA [1]. Note, however, that we do not have
access to ClearCase and most likely will not be able to reproduce the
problem.
