Hi,

My apologies in advance if this is "old hat". I've just not run across
this before in the Eclipse windows that I normally use.

I am using Eclipse 3.4 M5 and just noticed in the Add a new CVS
Repository that there's this little blue (i) icon next to the Host
field. And when you hover over it, you get a tool tip with info.

Is there a standard term to refer to this combination of the blue (i)
icon and tool tip behavior? Is it under the UA umbrella, or something else?

I think it's a rather neat feature, and when I demo it to others, I'd
like to know what terms to use to talk about it. :-)

Thanks!
Lee Anne

Hi Lee Anne. Are you referring to Label Decorations (Help/Workbench User
Guide/Concepts)? For example, the CVS Label Decorations are documented
in Help/Workbench User Guide/Reference/Team support with CVS. Hope this
helps. Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the pointer! I'm not sure (yet) if these are the same as the
Label Decorations. The info you provided is great because it gives me a
place to see if it is the same thing. :-)

Thanks again,
Lee Anne

You may want to investigate org.eclipse.jface.fieldassist.ControlDecoration
and org.eclipse.jface.fieldassist.FieldDecorationRegistry
