How to switch off "deep" error decorations in PE? [message #252368] Tue, 01 April 2008 19:43 Go to next message

I'm using Eclipse 3.3.1.1 and noticed that errors now bubble up to higher
lever packages whereas previous releases limited it to the actual package
containing error(s). I'm using flat package presentation and it is
annoying as I get many false positives - go in a package with error them
and find no errors, so have to always look for the deepest package first.
Is there a preference of some kind to switch it to how it worked in
previous releases?

Cheers,
V.

Sorry, but PE is not unique. Are you talking about the Project or the
Package Explorer?

My apologies, Package Explorer of course.

The Package Explorer propagates the errors and warnings to the top since
day one. If that's not working for you then please file a bug report
with steps to reproduce against JDT UI.

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by day one but there is clearly a difference between
3.0.2 and 3.3.1.1 - see attached. I'll file a bug report if this is still
present in 3.3.2. Thanks.

Update. The issue appears to be fixed in 3.2.2.
