Why is Eclipse adding a workspace folder to my Maven Project when I share it with Git? [message #1421488] Thu, 11 September 2014 08:39 Go to next message

I create a new simple Maven project in Eclipse (Luna), and configure it for Java 1.8 and Dynamic Web 3.1. When I try to share the project via Git by creating a local repository, Eclipse is adding what looks to be a partial clone of the workspace folder to the project. (see attached screen shot)

I'm not sure why it's doing this all of a sudden. I created a project the same way previously without the extra directory showing up. Could anyone offer an explanation or work-around?
