Compare with previous revision [message #1412062] Mon, 25 August 2014 03:48 Go to next message

Hi Olivier,

often I have a model under a version control system, git or you know..
clearcase. Do you know what would be needed in order to integrate emf
diff/merge into the "Compare with previous revision" operations of the
git/clearcase scm providers? This would be an awesome feature, I might
even be interested in helping out here.

Felix

Hi Felix,

I guess that requires some work on a deeper integration of EMF Diff/Merge with the Eclipse Team framework.
http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/platform-team/

I assume that would work for EGit. I am unsure about Clearcase, unless you have Clearcase integration plugins for Eclipse that use the Team API. Otherwise, you would have to integrate with Clearcase at low level or via Clearcase-specific integration API.

In any case, every contribution is welcome!

Olivier

Mhm, okay, we'll have to see about clearcase. I thought that maybe
Clearcase also connects to the team framework so that support for model
comparisons is maybe independent on the actual scm version used.

I could also look at how "Compare with local history..." works and see
if there's a possibility to connect this to Diff/Merge.
