Hi,

I am using BIRT 2.0.1. I wants to upgrade to BIRT 2.2.
My question is, If I install BIRT 2.2 and just copy and pest all of my
reports than will it work fine or I need to change something in
reports?

Thank you.

Hardik

Hardik,

BIRT 2.0 should be upgradeable to 2.2.0 without issue (in theory). In reality,
there have been some API changes between the products. It really depends
on how many of the advanced functions you are using in 2.0.1.

My feeling is that the risks of moving to 2.2 are far outweighed by all the
new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements that are built into 2.2

Moving from 2.0.1 to 2.2 certainly works, but the format of some of my
tables is screwed up.

There seems to be something different in the way 2.2 handles page sizes and
tables.

It's really screwed me up as I was all ready to move over!

I would open a copy of your report(s) in 2.2 and check the formatting.

Andy

Hi,

Thanks Andy and Scott. I used scripted data source and JNDI structure. I
also used drill down from reports by declaring params["Month_name"] and
etc. Now when I tried to execute reports generated in 2.0.1 in 2.2.0 it
gives some parser error. I thought xml structure on 2.0.1 and 2.2.0 might
be different and so that I am getting problem.

Anyways Thanks for your answers and I will try to execute with 2.2.0.

Parsed file failed.

If any one knows why this error occurred pls let me know.

Thank you.

Hardik,

I would suggest submitting a Bugzilla with the attached report and see if
dev can help with the parser error.

Hi,

Thanks Scott.

Now I am trying to make new report using BIRT 2.2.0. If it doenst take
much time than I will make all of my older reports by using BIRT 2.2.0
because I have queries ready with me so I think it will not take much time
to just make front-end and joining databases as I heard that BIRT 2.2.0
have very good capability of joining two different databases.

Thank you.

Hardik
