CreationTool.updateTargetRequest explanation [message #248316]

In my Application code the line

"req.getExtendedData().clear();"

in the method

"protected void updateTargetRequest()"

in the class org.eclipse.gef.tools.CreationTool

remove some extended metadata I have put before in a "getCreateCommand"
method of a mine XYLayoutEditPolicy's extension class.

I have removed the line and all seem work fine.

Why that line is necessary?
