After I start Eclipse CDT on Gentoo it shows "Generating Library H...on" on the status bar on the bottom right. This takes like 30 mins. or longer and makes the IDE so slow that it's unusable.

What exactly is it doing and what can I do about it? After it's done it becomes usable but performance is still not too good so any tips on improving performance after that are also appreciated.

Regards,
Fernan
