Obstacle-avoiding Manhattan router [message #248110]

Before I embark on writing my own Manhattan router with obstacle
avoidance, has there been any progress toward making such a router
generally available? I am aware of https://bugs.eclipse.org/262617 and I
have commented on the bug report.

It's an unfortunate situation: there is clearly a need for such a router
(web searches show that the question arises periodically) and no doubt
several folks out there have already written their own. But I'm afraid
that if I write one, the legal tangle here at work will likely prevent me
from making my code available either.
