Kai,

Cfr the weatherchannel example in openhab2, will it still be possible to link more than one binding to an item, in casu, more than one Channel to an Item?

Today, by defining multiple bindings on an Item, an effective bridge between technologies can be created without having to define rules to "copy over" values.

Karel, you are absolutely right, it definitely should be possible to have multiple channels linked to an item.
The current syntax and implementation in GenericItemChannelLinkProvider does not support this - I have hence entered https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=440351.
