Setting the editor -> setting is forgotten [message #245141] Sun, 01 July 2007 12:36 Go to next message

Hello,

I just upgraded to Eclipse Europe and I'm very impressed by this new
release.

One thing which remains a problem for me is the assignment of editor to
file. For example I assigned the WTP XML editor to the file "chapter10.xml"
which previously assiged to the text editor.

If I then change to another file and then back to chapter10.xml then the
editor does not work anymore. The XML editor is still selected as editor in
the list but I have to re-select it to make the XML editor active again. To
me it seems that the text editor is active and the XML editor is still
selected in the list.

This problem occurs only with some files and also an Eclipse -clean did not
solve this.

Any ideas how to clean this up?

Best regards, Lars

This works fine for me. Note that if you ever used 'Open With' on file
x.y it will remember that editor even if you change the default editor.

Anything in .log? Try to narrow it down to a reproducible case and file
a bug report.

No, nothing in the log. It is always reproducable for me but not for others.
But thanks, I will try to investigate more.
