Properties View and related Extension Points - Plans for e4 [message #1391203] |

Hey guys,
I'd like to use the mechanism of the Properties View (especially the
TabbedProperties) in my application, but as they are now they can't be
used in e4. My question is if there are any plans on "porting" this API
to be pure e4 compatible or if not what I could do to do so by myself?
My first idea was to extend the meta model of the Application Model, but
I'm not sure about that. The reason is that in my opinion Properties are
a bit like Commands or Handlers (non-visual elements).
TabbedProperties in e3 have been provided by a view (this could be a
Part in e4, so "simply" set the old contributorID to be the part's ID).
The whole stuff could even be a sub-element from the Part itself (like
the part's menu and toolbar).
But before I put more effort in those ideas I'd like to know whether any
plans have already been made.
Thanks,
Marina Knieling
