RAP 2.3 RC1 Calendar widget inconsistent presentment via Links [message #1384365] Wed, 28 May 2014 16:43 Go to next message

This issue is separate from previously mentioned 'menu' issues.
New wrinkle for RAP 2.3 RC1: Presentment of Calendar widgets via links

Calendar widgets, via links, are inconsistently presented: sometimes not presented.

1) Calendar widget via link is presented repeatedly until a child editor is presented. Then, the link will no longer present the Calendar widget.

2) A temporary remediation or user workaround of this presentation issue is done by navigating to another editor (this case, same level) and then back to the problematic editor, BUT ONLY works for links in the form of an actual valid date/time.
i.e. the link is in the form of a date ex. 2014-05-28T:00:00:00

3) No currently known remediation or user workaround of presentation issue if the link to a Calendar widget is presented as 'No Start Date' or 'No End Date'. These are used to indicate just that: there is no start or end limit

Debbuging revealed that the Link widget's selection handler is not fired in all cases.

I could not find a Link example in the RAP demo, so it's unclear if the behavior would show there, too.

Can you please check your code for the Link widget. It has regressed from RAP 2.1 where it was working properly.

Thanks!

Hi,
here is a demo of Link widget (RAP 2.3 RC2) -
http://rap.eclipsesource.com/demo/stable/controls/#Link
There is a selection listener attached to the first link (Lorem ipsum
dolor sit amet).
Best,
Ivan

Hi,
could you extract a small self-running snippet to reproduce the issue?
Does it work in older RAP versions? Please open a bugzilla and attach
the snippet there.
Thanks,
Ivan

Looks like someone else has the same problem and already created a
sample.

Yes seems to be the same issue, It worked fine in 2.2.0, it stopped working when I switched to RAP 2.3.0 RC2, In my post I have update workbench demo to show the issue. It seems to be related to something wrong between links and editor in workbench.

Hi,
issue is fixed. The fix will be included in RAP 2.3 release.
Thanks for reporting,
Ivan
