[Eclipse 3.0M8] Startup complain (incorrectly) that "Workspace is in use" [message #242620] Wed, 19 May 2004 12:51

Dear all,

With Motif (linux, solars) version of 3.0M8, when startin a fresh new
version of Eclipse, I got the error "Workspace in use. Choose another
workspace".

This is not correct because the workspace is suppose to be created by
Eclipse. When looking into the workspace/.metadata/ directory, the .lock
file is created correctly but then interpreted wrongly.

I tried to remove the .lock file and reselect the directory. The .lock
file is recreated (as expected) then Eclipse says the "Workspace in use,
Choose another workspace" It looks like the instance of Eclipse does not
realize it is it who lock the workspace.

Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks,
Sinleeh
