I am using eclipse 3.3.1.
There is an option in the Problems pane to show duplicate properties
(which is enabled) but it does not seem to work (no indication of
duplicate properties - which do exists).
Any idea?

I wanted to check if this works in my Eclipse but I can't see the option
you mentioned. Can you say how to get to this option?
Have you checked if this had been reported at Eclipse Bugzilla?
