Hi,
I am interested in the time tracking part of Mylyn. I am wonder how
Mylyn count active time. I suppose that Eclipse has to stay active to
make it count. I am trying to make Eclipse active most of the time during
development but I have to also access the shell, document, web browser
etc. I could count those as development time but it seems that Mylyn's
active mean the time that you are actually coding.
I am also wonder if there is plan to add button to start/stop time
manually or length of inactive that would also be count as active.
for example, I might go out of Eclipse to run test or command, or search
for some answer on the web and it would take 10-30 min. Let say that, if
eclipse stay in active for less than given duration, it would still count
as active.
Is there the feature that let me look at the log of active time. It
would be great to see how long the task stay active, during what time of
the day.
I really like the feature of http://processdash.sourceforge.net/, it
might be a bit too narrow but I hope to see more time tracking feature on
Mylyn.
Thanks,
Deen

I wrote a FAQ entry that should answer your question and confirm your
suspicions:

Note that we do plan on making these settings more configurable:
201620: Make activity timeout value a preference
