ODA data source not working in RCP designer. [message #240695] Thu, 31 May 2007 11:09 Go to next message

I have created a custom ODA data source based off of the CSV ODA data
source example from "Implementing and Extending Birt".

The custom data source works in the designer when it is launched from
the Eclipse interface.

I have since tried to distribute my custom data source to the RCP
Designer 2.1.2. Both plugins that comprise the data source show up in
the Help->About...->Plug-in... list. Additionaly my custom data source
is available in the data source list when I create a new data source.

The problem is when I create a new data source of my type the "Next"
button is greyed out and all I can select is "Finish".
I can then view the properties of this data source but it isn't the
pages I defined.

If I try to create a data set that uses the new data source then I get
an error telling me "Not all login info is supplied".

I believe this tells me the plugin.xml are correct. I have also checked
that the class files are in the .jar files internal to the plugin jars.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Lester,

Your ODA works in the allinone download?
Can you verify the DTP versions are the same as in the RCP?

Jason,

I was using the allinone download. I had started with Eclipse 3.2.2 and
then added everything from the Callisto update site.

Turns out that both Designer's had the same DTP's 3.0.2...

During my adventures with plugins the problem seems to have gone away.
You see, I had some other posts on the board and have been using them to
help package my ODA into a plugin.

I wish I could tell you exactly what I did but I don't know exactly what
fixed it.

Thanks for the help.

Happily baffled,
Lester
