Iam told to develop a plug-in that will alert me if there any conflicts
occur. We write code in eclipse and then use winCVS for other(say merge)
operations.I want to develop a plugin that will compare the file versions
both in the repository as well as the file a person is currently using. If
during merging any conflicts then indication should occur.

Isn't it strange to try to solve this integration with external tool
(winCVS), when Eclipse already provides complete support for interaction
with CVS? And I must say that what's in Eclipse is the best CVS client to
me, I even use it for sharing a synchronizing projects (and modules), that
are worked with outside the Eclipse IDE otherwise.

If there are some extra useful features that winCVS provides and Eclipse
does not, I guess that it would be better to suggest adding them to the
Eclipse Team/CVS implementation (submit them as feature requests).

That's my point of view.

Ondrej
