Hi,
I just noticed that there is a thing called SWG (Standard Widget
Graphics: http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/graphics) that adds
structured 2D graphics to SWT. Although it currently supports a
limited set of platforms, it is designed to be just as portable as SWT
is (e.g. it supports Symbian 80).
SWG provides some features that are similar to Draw2D, so my questions
is whether anyone has looked at SWG vs. Draw2D and given some thoughts
to how/whether Draw2D could leverage SWG.
I see at least two interesting possibilities:
- Implement Draw2D support for general SWT Controls. This will
implicitly support SWG, since I believe they extend the SWT Control
model.
- Use the structured drawing features of SWG inside Draw2D, e.g. to
increase power, ease of use and/or performance.
