Early testers wanted for M6 update site and all-in-one packages [message #229744] Fri, 27 March 2009 07:17

As many of you know, we produce milestone builds for WTP, but then we
also "roll up" those milestones with corresponding milestones from other
projects.

One form of this is the galileo update site. If you install the Eclipse
SDK, it will have a built-in update site for Galileo and that update
site now has M6 content for a number of projects. (including Web Tools
Platform).

The other form is the "all in one" packages, including the one that's
near and dear to this list: the Java EE IDE. That package, and others,
is now available from
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/galileo/m6

It would be very helpful if any of you could test the update site and/or
all-in-one packages. By test, I just mean, mostly, to install them, and
try some of your favorite scenarios. And open bugs for (new) problems,
or just your impression of them (e.g. if too large, not the content
you'd prefer, etc.).

I must caution, however, this is the first time we've managed to pull
these together for this Galileo release stream, so it's more like a
"Milestone 1" package than a "Milestone 6" package. We call it M6, since
it has M6 content, but its likely to be rough around the edges. In other
words, be sure to keep your working, production installs around and use
these M6 versions just for testing.

Thanks for your help,
