Well, actually, there's slightly more to it than that. Beyond the
simple functionality issues, there's a major political/bureaucratic
issue involved in installing a Stellation server on Eclipse.
We've used Stellation for the IBM internal work on Stellation. If
we could install a Stellation server on the eclipse site, we'd probably
do it within a couple of weeks. But I suspect that it will take at least
a few months to convince the Eclipse sysadmins that our system can be
trusted to run securely without compromising their servers.

That tar file is *very* out of date. You really don't want it. There's
a major bug in the current tarfile version that has been fixed in CVS.
We haven't been updating the tar file, because things have been so
in flux. We seem to be approaching a state where it will make sense
to declare a new stable version.
In the meantime, please get the latest from CVS. If you need help,
I'll be glad to give you directions.

That tar file is *very* out of date. You really don't want it. There's
a major bug in the current tarfile version that has been fixed in CVS.
We haven't been updating the tar file, because things have been so
in flux. We seem to be approaching a state where it will make sense
to declare a new stable version.
In the meantime, please get the latest from CVS. If you need help,
I'll be glad to give you directions.

Actually my question (more a curiosity) was why the eclipse project/projects
are still kept in CVS
and not using stellation.
But I think that you have answer this in here when you said that stellation
is still alpha/beta.
From I have read on the web it seems that stellation project will be
something great.
I'll have to try it this days.

Well, the biggest reason is the fact that Stellation isn't even
in beta-test yet. We (the Stellation team) secretly dream of getting
Eclipse to adopt Stellation in place of CVS. But we're a long way from
that point.
