building the source and running problem [message #21837] Mon, 21 March 2005 15:04 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
hello,

I'm running into issues with Birt not running in my run-time workbench

I follow the build instructions
(http://www.eclipse.org/birt/attachments/birtbuild.html)
through step 5. I switch to Debug Perspective and create a Debug as
runtime workbench, accept the defaults and run.

When I go to run I get an error that says

"some of the plugins have errors in thier manifest files. The launch
will continue but these plugins will be rejected."

So...perhaps the source I have retreived is out of date, I must confess
not real familiar with CVS, is there a way to get the latest working source?

Any other ideas?

Hi Mike,

This error occurred due to incorrect insertion of special characters in
plugin.xml in the file header.

Please update your source with 'plugin.xml' from:

.../source/org.eclipse.birt.data/plugin.xml (1.4)

That should correct the problem.
