Should there be a differences between the Linux/i386 and Win32/i386
versions of Eclipse 3.4.1 + WTP 3.0.2 + TPTP/BIRT/DTP/etc... ?

I have installed all the same ZIP files on both systems.

For example:

* Help -> About Eclipse SDK (I have 12 icons showing under Win32 but
under Linux I have 8). The icons that are missing all relate to
Eclipse.org parts:
"Eclipse.org - BIRTChart Framework"
"Eclipse.org - TPTP Instrumentation UI Core"
"Eclipse.org - Web Standard Tools (WST)"
"Eclipse.org - EMF SDO Source"
"Eclipse.org - AspectJ Development Tools"

but on Linux I have only:

"Eclipse.org - Eclipse Platform"

* Help -> About Eclipse SDK -> Feature Details (lists around 185
distinct entries for Win32 but only 17 under Linux - but the number of
files and dirs in eclipse/features/ folder is 312 on the linux system,
missing items from the Linux GUI include Apache Orbit stuff, all BIRT
stuff, all DTP stuff, all EMF stuff, all GEF stuff, all JST stuff, all
TPTP stuff, all WST stuff, all XSD stuff - infact there are only 7
entries from Eclipse.org on linux but maybe over 180 listed on windows).

* Help -> About Eclipse SDK -> Configuration Details (the information
there on Win32 mirrors the information under "Feature Details" and
"Plug-in Details".

If I take one of these features (that is listed on Win32/i386 but not on
Linux/i386) :

eclipse/features/com.lowagie.itext_1.5.4.v20080225-1437w3119 1339

this is from birt-report-framework-2_3_0.zip all the files are clearly
there within both Eclipse installations.

This features is CLEARLY displayed in the Win32 eclipse installation
under the "Feature Details" and in the "Configuration Details" under the
"*** Features:" section yet is missing from the Linux.

If I look at the available options in the Window -> Preferences the
items in there look the same on both systems. I can see options
relating to features and nothing has seemed missing from the Linux version.

TIA

Darryl
