A very newbie question:
I find the Eclipse download page (http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/) to be
confusing. I will be developing JSE and JEE apps. I can see the strong
possibility that I might need to work with C++ as well. Do I need to
download those three different Eclipse packages to get all of that
functionality?
Thanks in advance. Please respond to my email address as well as the
newsgroup.

If you click the "Find out more..." link under one of the packages,
you'll find a link on that page called "Adding Features from the Europa
Discovery Site"
That is a short screencast that demonstrates how easy it is to add
additional features once you have a base Eclipse installed.
Hope this helps,
Eric

Oh, I see. So what about "Eclipse Classic"? It's a pretty big download,
larger than everything else except for the "RCP" package. Does Classic
include several of the other packages?

Right on the downloads page under the Eclipse Classic heading, it says:
"The classic Eclipse download: the Eclipse Platform, Java Development
Tools, and Plug-in Development Environment, including source and both
user and programmer documentation."
Along with a link "Find our more..."
