epf doesn't run under 1.5.0_09 of jvm? [message #21032] Fri, 06 October 2006 13:12 Go to next message

Windows version of epf.exe is reporting;

"Version 1.3.1_01 of the jvm is not suitable for this product. Version:
1.4.1 or greater is required"

Yet Sun's jvm detector reports my system as having 1.5.0_09.

Can epf only be run with a specific version of the jvm, or have I missed
something when installing?

Thanks for any pointers.

EPF does need Sun JRE 1.4 onwards. You would have to check which JRE, EPF
is using on your system. Following message which you are getting leads me
to believe that EPF is picking 1.3.1_01 JVM on your system somehow.

"Version 1.3.1_01 of the jvm is not suitable for this product. Version:
1.4.1 or greater is required"

So make sure you PATH variables are correct to point to correct SUN JVM.

(Unfortunately?) installing a newer JRE/JDK doesn't remove the older
ones. I recall having a problem with an old install of 1.3.x of the JRE
that never quite got removed completely.
