R3.1.1, WinXP
So, I am on Eclipse 3.1.1 and I want to download GEF (for the first time into this install of
Eclipse) -- naturally I either (a) want to get GEF 3.1.1, or else I want to get GEF x.y.z > 3.1.1
and upgrade my Eclipse to the same version. (Right?)
So, I look at the recommendation
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/GEF_Developer_FAQ#Download _and_Install and try to use the GEF
update site in my eclipse: the only choice is GEF 3.2.0 ... wow! I had no idea Eclipse had hit 3.2.0!
So, I go to the supplied-with-Eclipse-install Eclipse update site -- and am told there are NO
updates of any kind. That's odd, I kind of thought there was a 3.1.2.
So, I go to the actual Eclipse download website http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ and sure enough,
the latest version is Eclipse 3.1.2 ...
So, what the heck should I do to get GEF? Looks like my only choice is the old-fashioned fragile
direct download method, from the website: http://download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/downloads/ which
does admit to a 3.1.1 version.
what's up?
thanks,
Paul

The updates to the wiki were in the 3.2 context. I'll add an entry for
3.1.x.
The old update site should still be intact:
http://update.eclipse.org/updates/3.0
The point of Callisto is to solve these types discovery issues in the
future.
