After running through some of the online presentations for GMF I had
gotten the impression, that there finally exists a graphical editor for
..gmfgraph files (after all, wouldn't that be the only logical thing to
do next, namely to write GMF-based graphical editors to generate these
..gmf* files?).

But I can find no such option or editor in my installation. Does one
have to install some extension or any of the incubation packages? Or
what do I need to do to get hold of that editor?

Found it. It's in the experimental SDK.

For some reason that doesn't show up via the normal SW update mechanism,
but only if one explicitly includes the GMF project's download site. I
had assumed, that - since GMF is part of the standard package that I had
installed - I would also automatically see all available extensions for
it.
