Xml document mode editor [message #214451] Wed, 28 May 2008 16:06 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
Hello,

I am working on an XML editor to edit XML files in the document mode ie
edit xml files which are linked with CSS files. I have CSS files and the
xml files can be displayed in a browser (IE or firefox). Can someone
suggest existing tools for editing xml files in document (stylesheet) mode
or how such an editor can be built.

Looking forward for a reply,

Wishwas.

Thanks for the reply David.

I have already been able to display the content in the format specified by
the CSS in Mozilla. I am looking for an editor which can actually help in
editing the xml file in the document mode. If the example in the quoted
blog is to be considered, I have been able to display the xml file in the
lower pane (Using a CSS) but I am looking for a tool/way to build a tool
which can edit the document in the lower pane.

You might want to check out Oxygen XML, as I believe it does what you
are looking for.

In terms of features , I am looking for what oxygen editor provides. But
,I am looking for something which is free/opensource.

Another alternative is VEX.

I haven't looked it in a while and don't know how current it is.

Thanks Dave!!!
Looks like this project has been frozen. I got the available plugins and
tried. I get a null pointer exception when I open Eclipse. Plz do let me
know if there any other such plugins. If there are some resources to help
build such an editor, the pointer to that also will be helpful.
