I have created a GEF Editor in which i view the diagrams. There is no edit
feature as i have removed the edit policies.
What i want to do is
Initally a high level diagram figures are displayed. When i click on one
diagram figure, the view should display the contents of the diagram.
Detailed steps of achieving this(code) would help me a lot.

well what u can do.. is make the data as the composition of figures..n the moment the figures r clicked ..find the figure n display the data regarding the figure..
i d.nt know alot abt gef ..but in draw2d i hav to follow the same approch..
i think it might help u..
