Eclipse+Qt+GDB [message #214010] Tue, 15 April 2008 19:41 Go to next message

I am unable to get the Eclipse+Qt plugin to build a debug application.

Here is the procedure:
-New Project --> Qt Console Project. Make bare minimum "Hello World!" app in
project.

-Choose Build All. Get release version of project built. Release branch of
project tree populates with object code and other created files. Debug
branch does not.

- Choose Debug (F11). Debug build appears to run. Program executes but I get
warning 'no source available for main()'. Program breaks and I get
disassembly but no variables, symbols, etc.

I have been looking for the magic button to push to get a real debug build
but can't find it.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks

Eric

Gonna add to this: the menu item under Project Explorer --> right click
project --> Build Configurations ---> Set Active is gray.

It's active for non-Qt projects, and has always worked fine.

All versions of Qt before 4.4.x don't have debugging mode on Windows, so
I think you're using Qt's version before 4.4.x.

Any way, this issue related to Qt, so I suggest to add your question to
Qt' maillist.

Hm, I am using 4.3.4 but I am on Linux (Fedora).

But I will try the Qt mailing list, thanks.

I'm not sure exactly, but I think for Windows only.

Any way, it better to ask your questions at Qt mail-list
