BIRT report does not display charts [message #213842]

Hi all,

I am using BIRT 2.2M4 build. I created a birt report with bar chart and
report details connecting to a DB2 database. The chart and data is displayed
and works perfectly within the Eclipse environment. I export the
project(EAR file) and deployed in a WebSphere 6.0 environment. When I run
the application in IE browser using the URL
http://localhost:9080/birt/frameset?__report=salesReport.rpt design

the data is displayed without any problem, but the chart is missing. The
format of the chart is JPG. I also tried with other formats PNG, SVG and
BMP but in vain.

Under the WebSphere 6.0 directory where the application is installed i see
all the necessary charting jar files like

org.eclipse.birt.chart.device.extension_2.2.0.v20061130.jar etc.

Also I don't see any error messages in the log file.

Is there any setting which I am missing ?

I've gotten charts to appear in WAS 5.1 and 6.0 with 2.2M2 (on Windows),
but have not tried with 2.2M4.

Hi,

I think I have installed BIRT properly on Websphere otherwise I will not
be able to see the data from DB2. The problem is have is only the charts
are missing. The remaining data is displayed properly and when I update
db2 tables and do a refresh...immediately i see the new data.

Only the graphs and charts are missing and there is a blank space in that
spot.

I will try 2.2M2 build and see what happens.

Hi susan,

Thnx. I installed BIRT 2.2M2 build on XP box and it works fine with WAS
6.0 on XP.

I am able to see the charts in the WAS application. So it is a bug that
birt 2.2M4 does not work well with WAS 6.0 with regards to charts. Have
you created a bugzilla for WAS 6.0 and birt 2.2M4 already ?
